Hey, it's me. I know – it's been a while. I found it interesting that I called this blog momentum when it's been everything but. That was a side note, here’s the real thing.
I love to write. I currently have three online blogs, although I’m more of a pen and paper girl. My battery just told me it was dying. See? Pens don’t die, they just run out of ink and you have to pick a different colour - also a side note.
You also have to ignore the red squiggly line flagging the u in colour. colour.
I’m currently at my desk, well, microwave on top of the washing machine. I chose this spot for the view. I could attach a photo for you to see.
Which brings me to my second point: writers begin by selecting an audience, I believe? Well, since I don’t know who my audience is, would it be okay if I wrote to all of you, just you, or just me from time to time?
This is harder than I thought.
Okay, so its currently 19h50 EST, and I just got distracted by the name of my blog again.
Momentum... I love the formula of momentum its, the product of mass and velocity.
Mass: I love how complicated it is. Mass: the physical body, but also a measure of resistance to acceleration, and its gravitational attraction to other bodies. Isn’t that beautiful? I mean, for something to have momentum it must have mass: a physical, present substance that can gain and lose and be drawn to and distracted from.
Velocity: speed in a given direction. Yeah there’s nothing romantic about that. But think for a moment of the consequence of these two factors. Speed and Direction: think of their vulnerability to external factors concurrent with their control over them. The less deviation from the wind, the truer the arrow will fly. The faster the arrow travels, the less deviation from the wind. I’m just bringing up the fact that it means something, before you dismiss it - that’s all.
Momentum: this word that befuzzles us all. I mean, there’s also its connection to the word ‘moment’, which seems to have no length - but from what I read in a book it lasts for 90 seconds.
It's getting late and I’m going to bed, but it is beautiful, isn’t it? I feel blessed, odd as it sounds, to be a creation. Just as mass was created and velocity and time have been created – or rather, I feel blessed to have a Creator, who loved me enough to breathe life into me and gift me with my own mass and velocity and moment after moment after moment.
Keep writing, darling Granddaughter...whether for a universal audience or for an audience of ONE. There are so many writers in MY forebears( the majority were female...and I am really happy to see the “gift” perpetuated. Write on, darling girl, let words dance in your head... explore the language, look up meanings in an Oxford Dictionary and let them become “friends”.’Tis a ‘gift’ that runs strong in MY family’s genes
